You need an active Zambian mobile number on any network. You have 2 options on getting the wallet:

  • Dial the USSD short code *XXXX# and follow the prompts.
  • Download Android or iOS App

You can register for VITPAY Mobile wallet on your existing number.

VITPAY mobile money stores funds in a secure electronic account linked to your mobile phone number.

Every transaction requires identification in the form of a secret PIN which you need to keep secret from others. Additionally, mobile money services store a record of every transaction and account balance, so even if the phone or SIM card is lost or stolen, the user’s money is kept safe.

  • Lower fees for cash out, deposits and transfer services
  • Direct wallet to bank transactions
  • Receive, convert, and transfer cash into wallet.
  • Send and Receive Money from all wallets regardless of the network.
  • Buy airtime across all networks for yourself or your loved ones. -Ability to pay for bills e.g. school fees, DSTV, Netflix -Ability to pay for your groceries in shops

  • Cash in at any agent location by paying cash
  • Cash in at any bank
  • Transfer e-value from any other mobile money wallet

  • Anyone with a valid Zambian Phone number across all networks
  • Any bank account without necessarily linking them.
  • Any bill paying merchant subscribed to VITPAY, e.g. DSTV, Netflix, etc.

  • You will need to contact VITPAY customer services team as soon as you can before the recipient has spent the funds.
  • You can also contact the recipient to send funds back, failure you contact customer services team.

  • Visit the nearest VITPAY agent for withdrawal.
  • You can also transfer the funds to your bank account.

Opening a VITPAY wallet is FREE of charge. There are no monthly charges associated with the wallet.

You need to have a mobile number (any network), provide your full name and surname and your identification card.

By asking for official identification, we can verify that people sending money are who they say they are, and should you lose your phone, we can authenticate you and your account. We are also required by the Bank of Zambia to carry out “Know Your Customer” compliance checks.

Your money is safe because your wallet is protected by your mobile money pin. Please contact VITPAY customer services team to block your wallet. Once you have replaced your sim or phone, you will need to call VITPAY customer services team to have the wallet unblocked.

Yes, you can send money from your VITPAY wallet to any network or bank account in Zambia.

  • For tier 1 users, you can only transact up to K20, 000 in a day.
  • For tier 2 users, you can transact up to K100, 000 in a day.

  • For tier 1 users, you can only have a maximum wallet balance of K100, 000 at any given time.
  • For tier 2 users, you can only have a maximum wallet balance of K500, 000 at any given time.

At the moment, the only currency available is Kwacha.
